I’m Rucha Ambike, an MSc TSI graduate from India with a passion for healthcare textiles, showcased through my dissertation work. In the recent years, Photodynamic Therapy has been extensively used to treat chronic wounds which has the potential to reduce the burden on the healthcare industry by allowing the patients to manage their own wounds. This work focuses on wet-spinning Toluidine Blue (TB) photosensitiser conjugated PVA polymer fibres and studying their physical and mechanical characteristics to understand how compatible they are to be used as a photodynamic wound dressing.
