BA Fashion Design

In my final year at the University of Leeds my work has been motivated both by design and innovation concepts. I have drawn inspiration from many different areas, with one of my collections being inspired by upcycling post consumer waste, inherently focusing on the deconstruction of garments. This collection was inspired by Georgia O’Keefes floral depictions which has resulted in a final outcome that has married innovative textiles with considered material sourcing and construction. I have also taken inspiration from the world around me, with family photographs being a main source of inspiration for one of my collections. Development includes print, chunky knit, weaving and layering of textures and colours. As a designer, I have aimed to achieve a creative breadth in my work, with each collection focusing on a different aspect of design, such as colour, texture, and construction experimentation and technique.
