As an artist fascinated by nature’s intricate details, my practice aims to reveal its hidden beauty. I am particularly drawn to textiles, using fabrics to explore the tactile qualities of natural forms. ‘In Bloom’ aims to capture the delicate and ephemeral qualities of nature through abstraction.
Embroidery composition and drawings featured in ‘In Bloom’. The delicate, loose nature of my drawings creates a sense of growth, depicting abstract plant-like forms. The embroidery works were hand painted and hand stitched. I use texture and embroidery to add depth- embellishing and enhancing. Embellishments like gold beads, pearls and delicate threads highlight nature’s beauty, reflecting light and capturing the eye. This reminds of us the world’s intricacies and evokes a sense of care and connection.
