BA Art and Design

My practise is centred around my grandparents’ house and touches upon the theme of grief, as well as the notion of presence and absence in the empty domesticated interior. By using photography as entry points to my paintings, my work displays the disruption of the usual familiarity of the home setting with unused spaces, brought about by the loss of its inhabitants. A ‘Timeline of Grief’ is made from my nana’s previous coaster/ashtray. The disordered display of the objects reflects the process of mourning and grief.
