My work explores wearable art through the display of an otherworldly, elegant experimentation of hybrid human divinity that is truly at one with all aspects of its surrounding nature, through the exploration of natural and manmade networks. My work portrays a form of armour: a transformative second skin that delves into a fantasy of escaping the cage of the human body existence.

Created with unconventional materials such as cellophane and tree branches, this wearable piece was inspired by a combination of the human anatomy, shells and the fungal empire.

This piece explored a mis-match of materials and ‘skins’ to explore potentials of a human hybrid existence. The process involved reworking old damaged clothing and unconventional objects such as an egg carton and bottle packaging.

The feeling of being trapped in one’s given body inspired this piece, wanting an escape and to be as an animal. The use of the loose knitwear allowed for a juxtaposition.
